That is Marco in a nutshell: a perfectionist, deeply committed, and always there for his team (a family he has built over a thirty-year career)—discussing, mentoring, and offering praise. TELL US ABOUT YOUR BACKGROUND
«It all started with my father. He was a footwear salesman, and even as a kid, he would take me on his travels. I grew up among his clients and colleagues, seeing that world from the inside. It was the perfect apprenticeship for the industry that would eventually become my life.
At just 20 years old, I launched my own namesake brand—Marco Moreo—showcasing my very first collection at my father’s trade show stand. The excitement was electric, and I knew right then I was on the right path: creating independent collections, defining my own style, and giving free rein to my creativity (and that of my team).
The real turning point came in the 90s when sales doubled and we expanded into the UK and Ireland, followed by Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, and Sweden. I was right to want to stand on my own two feet. After all, I do know a thing or two about feet!» ;)
WHAT’S THE MOST SURPRISING THING ABOUT YOUR BRAND?
«Perhaps the funniest thing is that not everyone realizes Marco Moreo is an actual person, not just a label. But here I am, in the flesh! [Trust us, we can testify to that: Marco is very real, and a great guy to boot].
Another surprise? Sometimes, in the evening, I reply to customers directly on our social media profiles—using a pseudonym, of course ;) I like to keep my finger on the pulse.
